About The Customer

Our client is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world.

Their mission is to fight poverty with passion and professionalism for lasting results and to help people help themselves and their environment by providing resources, sharing knowledge, building capacity and forging partnerships in the public and private sectors.

Problem Statement

Our client wanted to understand the skills supply in Africa, and whether it matched skills demand, to then make recommendations and informed decisions on their future work in education support for Africa.

There was no existing method to carry out this research to understand the skills profiles of African students and what their schools were teaching.

Solution

With SPRI and SPRP, our client was able to work with 5 universities across Africa, to use SPRI to profile the skills of students across multiple faculties and levels of education.

The second task was then to use JobKred and other partners’ labour market data to understand skills demand in Africa, Global Data, as well as doing a comparison with Singapore Data, to measure whether there was a gap between skills supply and demand.
